Personal Narrative: My Favorite Vacation To Punta Cana

Superior Essays
The week of June 28th, 2013 was about to be the most unbelievable week of my life to date. I was about to embark on an amazing vacation to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. I can remember all the details of this vacation from the smells in the air to the taste of all the delicious food they had to offer. My mom’s whole side of the family went on this vacation to attend my grandmother’s intimate wedding that was held on the soft-sand, clearwater beach right outside of our hotel.
Friday, June 28th is a day that I will never forget. This was the day we were to arrive in the Dominican. Even though it has been five years since this vacation, I can still remember what happened from the start of this vacation. It was mid-morning as I boarded

Each restaurant had its own twist on their recipes and each one was better than the last. There was a specific night that I remember eating at a restaurant on the resort called Toro. It was a steakhouse and their food was unmatched, but their food wasn’t the reason that I remember that night. We were seated outside on the patio and there was a thunderstorm off in the distance. Have you ever seen those pictures of tropical storms where the lightning bolts just strike across the sky? That’s kind of what this was like, but it’s so different in person. It was pitch black in the sky and every couple minutes these vast purple streaks of light would appear in the sky. It was beautiful… just sitting there with my family looking up at the night sky.
There was something about the night that was more desirable when I was at this resort. I walked down the long pathway that was next to a long stream of water. Each step I took was illuminated by the lights that went down the pathway in the grass. I was content for the night just walking down the pathway. I stopped for a second and strolled toward the water and crouch down to feel the cool water on my fingertips. I stood up and continued my walk down the lingering

The rocks were warmed from the sun and although they were rigid, they seemed unbelievably comfortable. I finally saw the the beautiful sun for the first time without having to bend my head back as far as I could since I had been in New York. It shone down brightly, warming my skin and glimmering off the glass of the skyscrapers in the near distance. I could finally feel the soft breeze wrap around me and not get deflected from the buildings. I watched the people from the city enter the park and watched as their city attitudes give way to the magical ambiance of the park.…

My aunt has always owned a beach house in Cape May which wasn’t far from Wildwood at all. I spent a countless number of days by the pool at her house and heading to the loud and exciting boardwalk at night. Every time I walk into Texas Roadhouse my eyes wonder over to where the rolls and their special cinnamon butter waiting to be consumed by the customer. I hear country music playing in the background, and feel peanuts crumbling under my feet like leaves on a beautiful autumn day. Without looking at the menu, my mind is already preparing my stomach for the flavorful food that I am about to encounter. Texas Roadhouse gives the Newark population somewhere local to get a great steak while getting a significate value. From personal experience most of the other steakhouses will get very pricey for a family of five making it difficult to dine at their restaurant while living on a tight budget.…

Trip to Hundred Islands In the summer of my third grade, when I was eight years old, I remembered when my parents told me that we were going to take a trip to Hundred Islands National Park in Pangasinan, Philippines. I said “ Are you being serious?” I was shocked, but excited when they told me. I couldn’t sleep that night, I was too hyped and thrilled. I thought it was quite spontaneous of them to decided to go to this trip since they were so occupied with work. The night before, I researched about the park and saw many wonderful things said about it.…
