Over my lifespan, change has been a word that I have enjoyed experiencing or talking about. I have not been the best at inviting change into my life and allowing it to have a positive impact. Through my eyes, change was accompanied by feelings of confusion, sadness, or even pain. From this perspective, I attempted to shy away from the word change as much as humanly possible. With that being said, I feel as if I have struggled to find who I truly am and what I stand for. I have continuously been content with what has gone on around me that I forget to open my eyes and see what else there could be. Having the tremendous opportunity to experience this course helped me change and realize that there are different aspects to the world then what I am accustomed to. The realization process has allowed me to understand that this is a special time in my life where I will continue to figure out my different views, perspectives, and ideas about my life. I should not rush and jump to conclusions about myself because there is still so much to learn. That is why I titled my paper, Respect the Work and the Process. Through completing this course up to this point, I can say that I know for a fact that I have not completed full concept change. There has not been a period over this past semester where a big light bulb moment had occurred and I instantly changed the way I felt about something.
