My long-term goals are to completely eradicate depression and anxiety disorders, the slightly smaller goal would be to research possible treatments and find one that is better than what we currently use for treatments. My goal career is to be a doctor, I am not sure if I want to be a psychologist or a neurologist yet but I am very determined to complete my long-term goal. If someone could eliminate these disorders, the quality of life would go up for everyone, ultimately this is my goal. My courses of study are most appropriate to help me achieve my goals because I need to look at this from every possible angle. CSU seems to be a place where I will have the opportunity and tools to gain the knowledge I need to accomplish my goals. The fact that I have had to fight for treatment and have experience with treatment is the motivation behind this goal. I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In my personal fight, I was diagnosed with PTSD when I was 11, it was caused by years of physical, mental, and sexual abuse, in addition to a domestic violence event where the abuser decided to try and take a vehicle down the wrong side of a highway at a high rate of speed. He did not crash, my mother gained control of the vehicle and we started walking home. From there he tried to run us over and eventually resorted to force to get us back into the vehicle. After the event, my family tried to get treatment but we were told they didn’t have an opening for a Medicaid case. We did get treatment after a court order. My dream for the duration of my childhood was to be a flight surgeon in the United States Air

Keeping my three personal and professional goals realistic, I would have to say a personal goal is to finish school at SNHU with a 3.0 GPA or above. I think a way for me to accomplish this goal is to stay focused on the tasks at hand, maintain a good relationship with my advisors and to utilize some of the tutoring options that are available to me as a student. Another personal goal is to work on myself, mentally. I cannot be a good mom or wife when I have the stress, anxiety and depression that I do. A way to help accomplish this goal is to not only start speaking with a psychiatrist (first appointment is August 4th) but to also have my thyroid checked.…
