My First Major Goal: How I Achieved It.
Being a young adult experiencing the new world that had just opened up to me I was terrified. I had never done anything for myself. Anytime I ever needed anything my mother was always there to support me. Although I did have a few goals such as making a good grade in my high school classes and making sure I prepared for the tests. Having higher goals than completing high school is part of growing up and I eventually had to do it.
My first major goal was to be able to get a job and save up for my very own car. My first job was working at a local fast food restaurant here in Savannah. I had looked for over a year and put in applications in everywhere before I finally got this job. As soon as I started

I would work at the pool in the morning and at the restaurant at night. I only had enough time to grab a bite to eat and change into my uniform before it was time for me to go to my second job. The days blended in together and I most of the time was sleep deprived but my goal was worth working hard to reach.
As I have told you I did not have my own car I had to use my mom’s truck in order for me to get to and from both jobs. I took both of my paycheck and never spent any of them unless I absolutely had to. Most of the time all I would spend it on was gas for my mom’s truck and food in-between jobs. It was very tempting for me to spend my money on anything I wanted because it was my money. Nobody could tell me I could not spend it because I worked very hard for it.
I took all the money I had from both jobs and saved it and by the end of the month I was ready to purchase my own car. I went looking online and at local places that I knew had cheap used cars. I could not find anything that was in my price range though. My boyfriend at the time knew a friend that was looking to sell his care and as soon as I found out about it we left and went and looked at it. I fell in love because when I first saw

At 6 a.m. every morning, the deafening tone of my alarm would signal the beginning of a new day. My morning routine sticks to the same monotonous schedule: a shower, getting dressed, a small breakfast, and a short drive to school. Most mornings, that five minute drive is nothing more than a mundane fraction of my day. But what I never consider is what these five minutes represent, which is the independence that I worked so hard for. If you ask anybody about their first car, you will only hear countless stories and fond memories, no matter how old or rusty their car was.…
