Our own beliefs, cultures, values and preferences may affect working practice as unintentionally we may tend to side towards people who share the same beliefs and values as ourselves and so may perhaps act in a more positive way compared to people who have different beliefs and values. It is always important to know and understand other people’s beliefs and values and help them to work towards them in a positive…

In general, I think that a positive attitude is a very beneficial trait and can bring you success in any aspect of your life, including finances or your career. While the previously mentioned traits apply to both personal and professional sides of life, good communication is essential in any type of professional setting. The business world is based off of the supply of a good/service, and the accompanying demand for that good or service. No matter which end of the transaction you are on, good communication ensures both parties have all the information they need to make well-informed choices. Professionally, you can be more successful if you accurately get your idea across and are able make better decisions if you…

In the story, “A&P”, John Updike introduces a young boy, Sammy, who is employed in an A&P grocery and finds his awareness towards maturity, which leads to consequences. The author illustrates this through the use of detailed characterization, bravery, and consequences brought from one’s actions. The passage starts off with Sammy working when he sees three girls wearing nothing but bathing suits and labels each one individually. Later on, the girls walk up to Sammy to check out when Lengel, the store manger, confronts them about their apparel attire and Sammy takes action, possibly making a big mistake. Updike uses Sammy to suggest how being impulsive can lead to actions that’ll cause one to mature and bring consequences.…

The main reason why I think that HACC is the best choice for me is because of the cost. The rates per credit are around $250 and that is for in-state residents. The total cost for a commuter would be around $13,750 for a student who is full time, which means they are taking 12 credits per term (Stager). This price of $13,750 includes the price of books, supplies, food, and transportation and it is an average price for all HACC students (HACC.edu). I think that I could easily cut some of the cost by trying to buy my books online for a cheaper price or even eating at home to save a lot of money.…

Keeping my three personal and professional goals realistic, I would have to say a personal goal is to finish school at SNHU with a 3.0 GPA or above. I think a way for me to accomplish this goal is to stay focused on the tasks at hand, maintain a good relationship with my advisors and to utilize some of the tutoring options that are available to me as a student. Another personal goal is to work on myself, mentally. I cannot be a good mom or wife when I have the stress, anxiety and depression that I do. A way to help accomplish this goal is to not only start speaking with a psychiatrist (first appointment is August 4th) but to also have my thyroid checked.…

Psychological well-being is about lives going well. It is the combination of feeling good and functioning effectively. Sustainable well-being does not require individuals to feel good all the time; the experience of painful emotions (e.g. disappointment, failure, grief) is a normal part of life, and being able to manage these negative or painful emotions is essential for long-term well-being. Psychological well-being is, however, compromised when negative emotions are extreme or very long lasting and interfere with a person's ability to function in his or her daily life.…
