My Hawaii Vacation

Improved Essays
Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to travel to Hawaii for a relaxing vacation with my family. Finally, we planned to go to Hawaii right at the beginning of summer. I don’t know anyone who would decline the offer to go to Hawaii. Knowing that this would be a vacation that I might never experience again, I knew I had to make the best of anything that happened. What could possibly go wrong? Whenever I picture Hawaii, I just think of the beach, the pink and orange sunsets, and having absolutely nothing to worry about. That sounded like the perfect way for my summer to start. When we first left from the airport in Cincinnati, we went to Houston, Texas. That plane ride went well, but then we went from Texas to Los Angeles. From …show more content…
However, we had to sit on the plane for an additional 30 minutes because there was no empty spot for our plane to go. I knew we had to make the flight from California to Hawaii, because it was the last one of the night. When we were finally able to get off of the airplane, everyone was pushing and shoving to get off the plane. My brother was first off, and the rest of us followed shortly after. When we got inside the airport, we did not see my brother anywhere. All I saw was people everywhere. We knew that he was not that far in front of us, so he couldn’t have gone too far. There was no time to waste at this point, so we decided to just run to the gate to see if my brother was there and if they would let us on the flight. While we were running there, my mom was asking security guards and workers if they had seen my brother and if we could still get on the plane to Hawaii. They just told us to get to the gates as soon as possible. I was panicking by now, but we finally got there and saw my brother talking to the flight attendant. The flight attendant had a black eye on his right eye, and he just told us that there was no way that we could get on the plane, even though it hadn’t left yet. We needed to come up with some kind of plan to distract him. He already had a black eye, so I pulled a hat out of my luggage and pulled it over his eyes. I tied a belt around the hat, so he couldn’t get it off easily. We ran as fast as we could to get on the plane. We ended up getting on the plane, and I was very relieved. All I wanted to do was leave California and get to Hawaii, but then I remembered we had five more hours on the plane, the time would be changing again, and because the time was different, I was

It turned out that using cash to purchase one-way tickets to an international destination on the same day of travel throws up several red flags to security. That hadn’t occurred to us, but we understood it. After answering several questions and convincing them of the reason for our trip, we were free to leave. It was just after noon and we were running to the gate where we were supposed to board the plane. We were worried we were going to miss the flight.…

When something unexpected to me, was when me, my dad, and uncle Steve weren’t allowed on the plane. I have no idea why we weren’t allowed on the plane, when the plane was sitting right in front of us and it wasn’t leaving for 10 minutes. The airport service worker said that we would have to get on the next flight to Denver in three hours. We couldn’t go back to Washington, D.C. because the airport was 30 minutes out of the city, and we didn’t want to be stuck in D.C for another couple hours. While sitting at the airport waiting for our next flight, we walked around and looked at the shops that they had in there.…

The plane ended after what seemed like an eternity and we got off and had to wait another little bit to get all of our luggage and get on one more airplane which took about 30 minutes for the last airplane. I was so glad I would not have to be on another airplane for 9 days because they really bother me sometimes like the 3 to 4-hour flight did. We got to the BVI and took a charter bus to where we would get our boat. We did have to leave the boat in that spot at night because we rented it and when you rent a boat they won’t let you sail or move and night because there are boats everywhere. We went to sleep and the next day the rest of the family that was coming got on the boat.…

The only thing that really upset me was that our trip to Florida was on the same day as volleyball camp. Having to choose between something I love and something else I love really disappointed me. So of course I chose to go on the vacation with my family, because they are way more important to me. At first, I wasn’t so excited to go because I wasn't sure if volleyball camp would be equal in experience as the vacation. But as much as I argued, with my dad about going to volleyball instead of Florida, he wouldn’t let me go.…
