My core belief is learning through hands on exploration. I take a Dewey approach to learning. I believe children learn best from being in a classroom that supports their needs, fosters their abilities, and nurture’s their social and emotional development. I believe in small group instruction, peer collaboration and a teacher and student collaboration to guide children’s learning. I believe extended the classroom to parents, grandparents, etc. is one of the best ways to help with a child’s success. Through my past experiences teaching, creating a room in which it felt like a community where family, community members, and collaborative teachers were participants helped my students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
