Marketing Analysis Of Vans Company

Vans company has recently taken loss to a large amount of sales, due to decreasing popularity. With proper advertisement, an audience will be reached and bring sales back up. I propose that the company uses an advertising network, such as Chitika, to help place banner ads on websites. Using Chitikas’ resources will make it easier for Vans to measure the success of the banner ads and reach more people with the easy access to some of their top advertising partners. These advertising partners include: Yahoo!, Super Media and HomeAdvisor.
The intended audience of the banner ads is the company/brand’s target market. The target audience is mainly composed of young adults and youth who enjoy both comfort and style. The shoes are sold in various styles,

My goal is to ensure the success of a business through advertising. Both primary and secondary research methods were conducted in order to gain information about Vans sales and advertisements. Secondary research is used to find the history and the general information about the company. Through primary research, information about the customers, company and the inner workings of the company. Secondary research is a vital aspect in finding out more about the background of similar businesses and therefore discover what makes them successful or unsuccessful. Primary research is important to find out about the business you are working with, in our case the company is Vans. Primary research can help give you an insight on the inner workings of the business. In preparing to conduct primary research I had a set of interview questions and surveys created. There were questions to help gain insight to the values of the customers and the company, as well as some information that could not be accessed with secondary research. Being aware of both the company’s and the customer’s values are important when trying to advertise a product or company, because it helps shape the outcome of the ad, directly reaching the target market. The ads will allow the company to reach many more people, because the use of technology is so prevalent today. When people start purchasing products from the stores, a large profit will be made; this is due to the fact that the banner ads costs are much lower than the products itself. One of the reasons I promote the use of banner ads to advertise is because of the flexible pricing structure. The most popular way advertising space was charged in the past by advertisers was based on the number of clicks on the ad by the visitors. That is an option and still common, although today there are multiple other plans. One of the newer placed plans allows one to pay a “fee per specific result”. Other than the cost advantage, another benefit of banner ads is that it provides effective audience targeting. By using Chitika, Vans will be able to access information by collecting data from browser cookies. The information will contain what other interests the audience has; using this information will allow advertisers to reach specific demographics. The advantages of banner ads is what had made them so popular. Ironically, banner ads popularity can be an issue, as it is one of the biggest problems for advertisers.
