It’s official. Macy’s shoppers are going digital. According to a recent survey, almost half of Macy’s shoppers (47%) will do most of their holiday shopping online this year.
Macy in the Digital Age
Macy’s surveyed 5,000 of their shoppers last month to uncover (the truth about) their holiday shopping plans and they gathered some interesting information. Of the 47% of shoppers who will mostly buy online, 35% will use a computer and 12% will use a smartphone or tablet.
The retail giant found that certain shopping statistics vary based on a shopper’s age. For example, 54% of Millennials would consider doing their holiday shopping online and then picking up items in-store. This number is lower in older adults.
