One of the hardest things is life to bear Is wanting you dad when he's not their
Please forgive me as i sit here and weep
For the father i long for so long to keep
The pain from the sorrow i feel l can't explain
But in the end i should have known anyway
That one day he would have gone away
And all i can do is hold on to the promise
That i'll see him again one day

In The Catcher in the Rye, Holden’s father is often an absentee.…

The main method of persuasion in the paragraph is the pathos appeal. The author of the blurb is specifically targeting the audience’s heart, making us feel sad and responsible for pediatric cancer. These feelings of sorrow and responsibility will lead the audience to nominating Bear Necessities as the Charity Drive charity in order to make themselves feel better because they improved the situation. The author also was very knowledgeable regarding the audience’s constraints; he/she knew that high school students are very accessible, and have the power to make large changes due to massive numbers. Furthermore, the author knew that the audience (high school students) was going to easily be persuaded because high school students are also kids and…

Now, because I did not have my biological father with me growing up, when I had children, I purposely ensured they had validation. I raised two sons as a single mother for most of their lives. I put them through school, taught them how to respect and interact with women, and when they had children of their own, by the way, girls; they understood the importance of validating them early. And I could not be more proud of my sons how they treat their daughters, my granddaughters know the power of being validated and supported, for which I am so thankful that my sons got the lesson. They followed the blueprint that I created for them.…

Most people have had a father or father figure at some point in their lives (I would spice this first sentence up so it is an attention grabber to begin your paper). Although not everyone knows what it is like to actually be a father, almost everyone has a common notion what being one looks like in our culture.
