The author believes the best pedagogical approach should be to challenge the schema of Sandra’s moral development. At present, according to Kohlberg’s model, she is reflective her own morality in so much as it pertains to the expectations of others. The author believes that a challenge to this schema to create disequilibrium would be to present her with a variety of historiographies. An example would be to present her with a traditional historical interpretation and a multicultural interpretation. The clearest, and perhaps most challenging assignment, would be a term paper in which she would be ask to reconcile a traditional interpretation of US history with more modern multicultural interpretation.
