People have different opinions on how much time kids should spend on games. In my opinion, I think they should limit computer games for one hour a day. My protest is because it hurts your brain. My other protest is that if you play too much you can get a headache.

If a kid plays too much on the computer, it can be bad for them. A web site I found says that kids should only play for one hour per week to gain better motor skills. I agree with this web site because motor skills help with posture, balance and running. Kids who played weekly video games had reduced social skills. If they weren't playing video games, they could have been playing with their friends. All kids miss out on activities, that is fundamental to their physical,

In a study by BGR.com they found that in 2014 ¨an average gamer spends 22 hours a week playing games¨, they also stated that they expected that number to rise dramatically by the year 2020. Just from past knowledge a person 13 years or older is either in school or at work anywhere from 8 to 16 hours a day. So, if the average gamer plays games 22 hours a week and goes to work 13 hours a day for 7 days that includes weekends, there are 168 hours in a week, so a gamer who goes to work 13 hours a day comes home plays games and goes to sleep for 6 hours everyday would only have 20 hours a week to eat, shower, drive, and spend time with their family, That's not a lot at all. In conclusion, the idea that video games are good for your mental development is absolutely false, not only do they not help your brain in anyway they take most of your time you have left after work to do anything with your family or do anything for that matter.…

Mark Bauerlein, author of The Dumbest Generation, argues in his controversial novel that America's rapidly developing technology and our growing dependence on it is destroying the minds of our youth. He alleges that today’s youth are losing the ability to think, as we slowly rely more and more on the comforts of computerized algorithms to think for ourselves. Despite my own biased view of Bauerleins viewpoints from the perspective as a literate and well-worded 16 year old living in an arguably virtual world, Bauerlein has some merit, but his perception of what intellect is, and isn’t is veiled, and his own biased maturity is questionable. It is an obvious allegation that technology has a great deal of influence on the lives of students.…
