Gladwell did not provide proof on how his points and views were effective. For example, Gladwell states that is "television is very different now from what it was thirty years ago. It's harder." It is true that we have a major advancement in our technology but, there is no evidence how this can be affective to our brain. He does not mention that some television shows are pointless and the information they provide are meaningless. Some shows do not benefit our minds in any way and can have a negative effect on people if television is watched for long periods of time. As kids get older, too much television can interfere with activities such as being physically active of playing with friends outside. A fact stated that children who spend more than four hours per day watching TV tend to be overweight in the long run. Galdwell mentions “we're not used to being in a situation where we have to figure out what to do," such as more recent video games. Gladwell does not mention any statistics about the grades people received compared to those who spend hours playing video games. Video games may help a person with eye hand coordination but it will not help being successful on an important exam. He doesn't mention anything about people that consider themselves "gamers" and how many hours they spend playing video games and how many of those hours they didn't get something done they needed to, such school work. When playing video games rather than to study or do home it is obvious that you increase the risk of receiving a lower grade. According to scientific study, children who play more violent video games are more likely to have increased aggressive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Studies have also shown that the more time a kid spends playing video games, the poorer is his performance in school. A study by Argosy University's Minnesota School on Professional Psychology found that video game addicts argue a lot with their teachers, fight a lot with their friends, and score lower grades.
