Is Going to College Necessary for Students to Be Successful? In today’s world, it is very common among students’ minds that the academic career will not amount to anything without a college education. Indeed, most people are practically raised and conditioned to believe that everyone needs a higher education in order to succeed in life. This notion can be found in many societies around the world which make college education is no longer an option or a goal for students to accomplish, but rather a necessity for them to be successful. On the other hand, some people believe that college education is a wasted investment of money, time, and energy; However, I believe that college education is not a qualification for or a proven formula for a life success. In other words, college education is a risky gamble because it might work well for millions of students, but it might not work at all for others. Nowadays, college education seems to be worthless due to abundant factors, such as the fact that there are diverse people who succeed in life without a college degree. Also, there are different college graduates who are employed in jobs that do not require a college degree. Besides, there are a large number of college graduates who are un/underemployed. College degree does not guarantee learning or job preparation. Instead, it leads to severe outcomes, such as stress and health issues.
