Who did you interview and why did you select this individual to interview? For the informational interview, I interviewed my mom, Beth Martens. The reason I chose my mom is because she is an elementary school teacher and has been for about 15 years. Throughout her years teaching, she has taught at two different schools with three different positions between those two schools. As a teacher, she has experienced many ups and downs, such as awards and principle changes, which have all shaped her to be the teacher she is today. I thought she would be the perfect person to interview because of her experience. She is the head of the kindergarten department at her school, which means that she goes to meetings with the other grades heads in the school …show more content…

I would like to know how to find out what tests you have to take in each state in order to teach in that state. I know that each state is different, but some states are interchangeable so I would like to know which states are like that and which I would have to take another test for. It becomes confusing when I am getting my teaching degree in a different state than I will be living. It would be beneficial to learn about these different states or even the different test we have to take as teachers. Another question I have is: what are schools in need of now? Do they need English language teachers, math teachers, english teachers? It would be helpful to know what types of teachers are needed and where they are needed. This would greatly improve the search for a job and the endorsements that I should take on. Many schools are looking for teachers to specifically teach english to english language learners. I am minoring in Teaching English as a Second Language already, which will be helpful when I am applying at
