The person I choose to interview was my mother Consuelo Mendez. She is 42 years old, which puts her in the middle adulthood stage. She grew up in a Mexican household with a huge family. She has nine sisters and one brother. She was only able to attend school up until her sixth grade, since she had to go help my grandpa in the field. My mom spent a lot of time outside in her backyard, climbing trees, running, and hanging out with her sisters and brother because my grandparents had a huge back yard with a lot of fruit trees.My mom is very sociable, she had lots of friends when she was younger. “What my opinion about friendship is that it is true women are drawn into the emotional state they might be or how i am doing. Whereas men are more draw to talk about sports and talking about if they seen the soccer game and seen how much they lost and all this stuff, and also to talk about how much one 's making and how their work is going. Whereas a women is more worried about how their personal life is going.” Friendships provide affection, companionship, understanding, and social support and therefore contribute to well-being. Friends can also affect the status, power, wealth, attitudes, behaviors, and values of middle-aged people. As their responsibilities decline they start having more time with friends. In addition to these consequences for individuals, midlife friendship patterns can affect society, such as by reinforcing the class structure and upholding the institution of marriage. Friendship is an important type of human relationship during middle adulthood.
