Personal Narrative: My Emerging Leaders

Good Essays
At The University of Akron, I have already experienced some great times with some great people. One of my most exciting experiences so far was move in day! Coming to college I didn’t know what to expect, let alone what to expect from Emerging Leaders. On move in day, it was exciting and flowed nice and easy. I was expecting being frustrated trying to get my stuff up to my room, but when I saw all of the students volunteering their time to help out I knew I was in for a good time. After I got settled in to my room and moved my furniture and appliances to my liking, it was on to meetings and activities. Not going to lie, some meetings were slightly boring, but I did get to meet a lot of new people in the process. The night Jonathan Burns came into the ballroom and performed his comedic act was the most I have ever laughed in my life. After a long day of meetings he provided my friends and I with a great night of laughs and jokes. So far in my first two weeks, I have had many great experiences on campus. I have met lots of great people from places all over the country and some from different countries! I have had a great time getting to know new people through the speakers brought in by the program.
