I have been a part of the Future Business Leaders of America since middle school. One of the challenges that I had to overcome in becoming ready for college and career was "speaking up". I have always been a quiet person and I was never a fan of the spotlight. I would do almost anything to escape talking in public, but my teachers and advisers saw something in me that I would have never seen. Because I had people that believed in me and encouraged me to do my best no matter what, I was able to compete at a national level competition in public speaking.
