Personal Narrative: My Definition Of A Leader

There is not one set definition of what a leader is, there are generalizations for a set definition but a leader means different things for every person on this Earth. Leadership can be exhibited in various ways. Learning to be a leader takes many years of experience and is always a learning process. The persons that I chose to be my ten leaders are individuals who I think have had enough experience to become the great leaders that they are today. Most of them have made such a huge impact in their careers to the point that they are considered legends at what they do. What I envision a leader I see a person who is out spoken, someone who is trying to accomplish change in something that they believe in and it is important to them or their community. They are a positive influence to people in their lives and other who look up to them if they are in the public eye. All of the leaders that I have chosen I have looked up to, respected their work ethic or what they stood for as an individual. …show more content…
The coach that had the most impact on me was Coach Dave. He was my coach in middle school for the local YMCA team and the lessons he taught me then stuck with me through high school and still to this day. The relationship that we had a “master and apprentice” feel to it. As a child in middle school I was stubborn and hated when people told me what to do. He was almost certainly one of the first people to make such a huge impact on me that I actually listened to what he said.
