February 3, 2013 during Super Bowl XLVII Pepsi. Aired Mountain Dew commercial during the Super Bowl since the year 2000. Nudd. “Mountain Dew Will Push Its Kickstart Drinks With First Super Bowl Ad Since 2000.” The product that Pepsi presented was Mountain Dew Kick Start. The commercial takes places in a living room with a group of three friends playing a video game. On the video game you can see one of the friends over using the kick button as a reference to the Mountain Dew Kick Start. The friends look very bored as they played the fighting game until the Caucasian friend tells his African American friend to pass Kick Start. The African American friend then grabs three Mountain Dew Kick Starts that showcase the three different flavors that Pepsi was presenting in the commercial. Soon as the African American friend opened his Kick start a tune began to play called “Out The Speakers” by A -Track. When the music began all three friends take sip of their Kick Start and began to have a dance party. Then the music takes and slight pause then a moving ear head yells out “Hi”. After that the commercial showcase a plethora of personification; every nonliving thing in the room began to dance along with the three friends. Logos is when a company tries to appeal by using reasoning and logic. Usually when a company is showcasing a product they focus on one product, but in the Kick Start commercial they actually showcase three different flavors. By them showcasing three new flavors in one commercial they showcase that they had a variety of flavors for the consumer already although this was their newest product on the market. The three flavors that were showcased was Fruit Punch, Orange Citrus, and Mango Lime. That was a very smart marketing tool because the more flavors they have the people will consume the

    After reading the rhetorical analysis, Essay about the Coca-Cola commercial, "Anthem" I gave the student a B. In my opinion, the student exhibited her ability to adhere to the guidelines of the assignment. The essay was effective at showcasing a commercial created within the past 3 years, identifying the year aired, reaching her intended target audience (high school students), as well as, ensuring that the commercial was within the acceptable time limitation of 30-60 seconds. For those reasons, I gave the student a full 20 in the criteria for genre/audience. Concerning the criteria for focus, I gave the student 16/20 because I feel that the student was effective in maintaining the main idea of the essay, however, did not maintain the stance of each paragraph.
