How Did St Christopher's Birth Date

Saint Christopher’s birth date is unknown, but he was born in Canaan. According to some documents he apparently died under the Roman Emperor in 251 A.D.. He may have been named Reprobus, but most people refer to him as Saint Christopher. He is listed as a saint and a martyr. Saint Christopher’s feast day is in July 25th in the Latin Church and May 9th in the Eastern Churches. He is the patron saint of Travelers and Children. In some accounts, it says that he was super tall and people think he was a giant because of how tall he was. He was a man of significant stature and he was very spiritual and a good model and inspiration for the Catholic faith. One day he decided he wanted to serve a king greater than everything else. The child asked him if he could get help to cross the river. Saint Christopher did as he was told. When he enter about midstream, the water in the river began to rose and the child’s weight became heavier than it just was. Saint Christopher barely made it to the other side of the river safely. When Saint Christopher asked the child why he all of a sudden got extremely heavy, the child explained to him that he was Christ. When Saint Christopher was carrying him across the river, he was also carrying the weight of the whole world on his shoulder. After the child was done explaining, the child disappeared. Some legends stated that Saint Christopher traveled to many different places after his experience with Christ and the river. While he was traveling he converted thousands of people to Christianity. Arriving in Asia, he witnessed Christians who were being killed who became martyrs. Saint Christopher was ordered to offer a sacrifice to the emperor. He refused, and it was decided to try and persuade him with money and women. Two women were sent to try and tempt him, but instead he converted to
