Not much is said about St. Sebastian’s early life, but historians find that St. Sebastian was born in Narbonne, Gaul, educated in Milan, Italy, and served for the Roman military. In the Army, he stayed true to God, even in the midst of all the idolatry, and profanity. During his life, Sebastian converted a few people to Christianity. Word spread to Emperor Diocletian that Sebastian was a Christian, and had himself converted people to Christianity. Enraged, Diocletian used Sebastian as a target for an archery practice in the Roman Army. Once the soldiers had done what they were told to do, they left Sebastian for dead. However, after the soldiers had left, a Christian widow found some life in Sebastian, and brought him into her home to recover.
