Everyday, colleges students wake up and just go about their day. Not once thinking about how college cost could be lower or how they can help make it lower. Linda Lee’s essay, “The Case Against College”, talks about the rising costs of college and the increased difficulty for students to afford to go through 4 or more years of higher education. The staff from the Center for College Affordability and Productivity’s essay, “25 Ways to Reduce the Cost of College”, talks about the 25 different ways that college costs could be reduced. As well, the US Department of Education also discusses the different formulas used to figure out the aid packages given out to students in need of aid. Furthermore, in Robert Martin’s essay, “How College Pricing Undermines Financial Aid”. he discusses that colleges, raise tuition prices at the same rate that governments raise the limit of financial aid packages. The costs of college can be lower by many different factors. For example, using lower cost alternatives, fewer resources, exploit technology, improving competition, and along with the reform of financial aid and making sure that aid goes to the students that actually need aid. As a high school senior, the discuss of what college you are to in the fall always comes to down to one question. Can I afford to attend this college in the fall? Along with that question many others run through your head but you always come back to the first one when making you are making your final decision. The…
