Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have no rights to arms? Some people think that guns should be in the hands of citizens, while others think that for us to be the safest citizens should not have the right to arms. While many people think that strong gun control is good, countries that enacted gun control their homicide rates have went up, so therefore there should be fewer gun restrictions.
Gun laws don’t help the amount of murders. “Murders have basically run flat seeing only a small spike after the ban and then returning almost immediately to pre-ban numbers(4). This means that after the gun laws were enacted the murder rate went up then went back down to pre-ban numbers. “Immediately after the ban the murder rate shot up to 1.6 per 100,000 people in 1975(4). This is saying that after the gun ban the murder rates were higher than before. “In the UK more than 50% of all burglaries are so called “hot burglaries” meaning that the residents are home when the burglary occurs” (1). This means that there are way more burglaries at home when the home owner is home than in the US. “On the other hand in the US only about 13% of all burglaries happen when the residents are home” (1). This says that in the US there are less “hot burglaries” than in the UK where there is strict gun laws.
