Gun Control: Why Then Not Ban Everything that Poses a Potential Threat Gun Control is laws or policies that regulate the manufacture, sale, transfer, possession, modification, or use of firearms. Allowing Gun Control in our country will only minimize the rights our founding fathers granted us with. Although many believe that Gun Control is a solution to prevent crimes, studies on countries that already adopted Gun Control show no decrease in crimes. Gun Control will only detriment citizens by not allowing them to defend themselves or their property. Although many believe that law enforcement should be the ones in charge of protecting the community, it is clear that we shouldn’t have to wait for someone who may not be around the corner to come and protect us or our property when we can do it ourselves. It seems that criminals and shooters tend to attack soft targets, for example, elementary schools, churches, theaters, places where it’s unlikely for someone to fight back with a firearm. Allowing citizens to own weapons can prevent many crimes because criminals would think twice before committing a crime due to the possibility that someone may be nearby with a firearm ready to fight back.
