Essay Against Gun Control

Guns do not kill people. People kill people. There are a lot of reasons that gun control is not the answer. I am strongly against gun control, because I think that if we go through with these laws it will not help. I think it will increase the deaths by guns, and I do not want people to die, that is why I am against it. There are reasons that it will not work, like it’s impossible to get rid of the supply of guns we have because it is too large. There are disadvantages like people won’t have the right to self-defense, and guns stop more crimes than they cause. Also, the number of murders by gun has significantly decreased in the past twenty years, so why are we all of a sudden trying to pass these gun control laws. These are just a few reasons why I think that gun control is not the answer to the problem with the murders. First, there are many reasons that the gun control law will not work. “There is no possible way to extinguish the huge supply of guns in the United States alone.” ”6” There is just too many guns. “If a nationwide gun confiscation program was attempted, they would have to confiscate over 350 million firearms.” ”1” There would be a lot of guns that would not …show more content…
It will just cause even more crimes. We will never be able to get rid of the gun supply in the United States, it would break the second, fourth, fifth, and fourteenth amendments. The people who made the amendments were people who helped create this country. They would not make a amendment that would hurt the very thing that they created. And the number of murders has gone down in the past years, so why would we want to think about gun control now. We should have thought about in the last 25 years, because it was much worse than, then it is now, but now gun control is not needed. The United States would benefit more if we did not have these laws, then if we do have these laws. These are the reasons that I am strongly against gun

Gun control is not constitutional and will not save these thousands of deaths because the evil men and woman that kill these people will always find ways to get illegal guns or weapons, if they took away guns that would lead to much power to the government and it is the second amendment right to own guns. For instance, the Paris attacks is a very sad example of the truth, that no matter how many limitations you put on gun control, very evil people can find a way to take advantage of law abiding citizens……

Though gun control is a necessary thing, many are against stricter gun control laws. Those opposed to stricter gun control laws would state that gun control would have no effect on reducing crime (Gottieb 1991). However, according to the Huffington Post, which states that with “Higher gun violence tend to have much less stringent gun laws” (States 2013). Having gun laws that put severe restrictions on guns are unhelpful and impractical. The government can make it almost impossible to obtain a…

By Federal law gaining legal access to a gun is a process simpler than a refinancing a family home in the United States. Our government states that under federal law a licensed gun dealer cannot sell any handguns and/or ammo to anyone that is under 21 and can’t sell long arms (Shot guns/ rifles) to anyone under the age of 18 but an unlicensed dealer cannot sell handguns to anyone under 18 and can sell long arms to anyone regardless of age. Everyday there are up to nine deaths under the age of 21 daily, leaving us with an issue that has been here for such a long time but has been continuously ignored and overlooked because most people go about finding solutions for guns in extreme ways. It’s not about getting rid of guns but controlling how…

Murica doesn’t need Gun control Gun Control is a very hot topic these days. Some people think that having more gun laws in America would lessen the number of murders in America, however I think that having more strict gun control laws would do nothing to stop criminals from getting guns or killing people. Criminals will always find a way to get weapons. To prove this, handguns in the UK have been banned since 1998 and the murders have actually rose in numbers. For this reason I think gun control laws would not stop criminals from getting guns…

Gun laws are one of the things that won’t get everyone satisfied. Everyone has a different opinion due to either political views or past experience. Some may prefer the idea of gun control or banning guns is the only to stop deaths. According to the National Survey of Law Enforcement, “many proposed gun control measures – including bans on assault weapon – will be ineffective at reducing violent crime and that legal gun ownership by private citizens would prove a better safeguard.” Although having a strict gun control may have it’s benefits when reducing death, we must use gun control moderately to decrease the amount of illegal activity surrounding guns.…

Gun Control is Not the Solution Increased Gun Control in the United States is absurd, useless, and unnecessary. In order to increase safety all throughout the United States time and effort must not be spent towards limiting gun owners of their rights. The tragic rash of school, religious, and workplace shootings has turned up the heat on the public conversation about guns. In nearly all of these cases gun laws would not have stopped the shooters from obtaining a firearm.…

The Second Amendment Some people in the United States of America feel that the Second Amendment should be removed due to crimes in this country. Others feel that if the amendment was removed, the brutal death rates would increase, creating more harm than good. Although most people believe that guns can be dangerous, we should not amend the Second Amendment because people need guns for home and self defense, guns are a reliable source to help put food on the table, and they are also a way to help keep terror groups and enemies out of our country (Gun Control Controversy). In today 's world, America has become a horrific place filled with crime and murder.…

With gun laws, guns will be taken from law abiding citizens, but will remain in the hands of criminals. Gun education and safety is needed more than new laws. The best way to prevent shootings is to instill in children from a young age the right and wrong of gun ownership. This includes never pointing a gun at another person. Also if we take a close look at Mexico, we will understand why gun control laws will not work in America.…

Gun control is needed to a certain extent and the current laws that are in place are strict enough to prevent the crimes that we are able to prevent. Ultimately, gun control will not stop people from committing crimes by making stricter laws. Stricter laws affect the average law abiding citizen more then the criminals. Crime has always existed because humans are not perfect, but being able to have a firearm may be what prevents crime form happening around law-abiding families and citizens. In a perfect world, crime could be stopped by studying and understanding the criminals committing these crimes.…

Well I do, and it had only happened four years ago, and shootings here have gotten much worse today. That’s why I propose a improved gun control system in our nation. Gun control is a very uneasy topic in our country right now, but i believe use more stricter gun laws won’t help anything. Crimes laws even have a chance to rise because people won’t be able to defend themselves from criminals. According from the article Misfires in Gun Control Debate that a study conducted in 2013 showed that the deaths from homicides is over 500,000, but gun have only killed 350,000 people which is still horrible but shows that guns have only caused some of the problems. If you take away guns then people will have no way to defend themselves against criminals and the deaths in America will just keep rising guns level out the playing field. Yes, guns do bad things…

Gun Control laws are bad news. Gun control is a big topic in modern society because more homicides are happening week by week and it is extremely sad and people feel the need to get out there and help their community. Gun laws will not at all stop gun violence because the bad guys will always find a way to get them and the gun laws will only be followed by law abiding citizen. There are three reasons that prove my claim. First is that gun laws do not lower crime rates whatsoever.…
