They should be enthusiastic, positive and full of energy right from inception to completion. Strong interpersonal and communicating skills are a pre-requisite as they need to understand clients' requirements and convey it effectively to subordinates. Excellent planning, time management, organization, and presentation skills are a must. They should be good team players as well to be able to work independently, demonstrated by strong work ethics.
Academic Background
To be eligible for the post of an event specialist, you must possess at least a bachelor's degree either in public relations, communication, business management, administration, marketing, sales, or hospitality industry. A relevant work experience in planning of small events, handling administrative work , management of college events, volunteering work, etc., would be an added advantage. Additional certification or training would help in progressing your career.
Work Hours
Event specialists enjoy the freedom of working in flexible schedules, but which also means that they may be required to work at odd hours in the early mornings, late evenings, nights, or even on public holidays and weekends.
