Throughout my life I have had a passion for communication. As I transitioned into college I found I could turn my passion into a career. As I continue to develop and sharpen my skills in the communications field I am eager to put them to use in a professional setting. Growing up in Garden City I was able to take part in many Beef Empire Days celebrations. It would be a privilege to gain experience in my career field through assisting with a week of events that has had a presence to me throughout my life.

I am currently serving my second term as the Vice President of Alumnae Relations for Sigma Kappa sorority. In this position I lead the planning of events that engage both the alumnae and the members of my chapter. Examples of these events include luncheons, a tailgate, and a viewing of a university theater production. I also lead the committee that plans Founder’s Day, our largest chapter event of the year. Serving on the university homecoming committee I aided in planning a week long of events to celebrate K-State’s 100th homecoming celebration. This experience taught me about planning large-scale events that are attended by thousands of people. My term as a member of the Student Governing Association has exposed me to planning formal meetings and lecture events.
