It was a cold summer night and I could see the sun setting over the lake as I was arranging the lawn chairs around the campfire. I tried to dodge the clouds of gnats as I was running back and forth getting all the cards, snacks, and music ready. Just as I finished I saw the thirty teenagers walking up the long path to the camp directors house ready to participate in an evening activity I planned for them. I watched the girls race to get seats on the lawn chairs and helped the others find seats so they didn’t have to sit on the wet grass. The girls were laughing and having fun but I was worried, the director was no where to be found. I quickly found a walkie and asked the 20 other people who were on the channel where she was. A few seconds later I was informed she was not on camp and I had to plan a new activity. …show more content…
As a camper I woke up to a great day of activities and never thought about all the hard work that went into setting it all up. Things changed when this past summer I was assigned to work in special events. I was responsible for setting up all the activities that I thought got set up at the snap of a finger. It was a hard transition. I never noticed what materials, like speakers and projectors, went where and now I was responsible for them. Some days there were as many as 12 activities to organize, set up, run, and clean

Although the location of my study areas vary, I decided to choose the one where the majority of studying is done which is in my bedroom on the bed. The set up of the area will include surrounding myself with textbooks, two laptaps (one for note taking, the other for research), different colors pens, a notebook, snacks and of course my cell phone. While studying I normally have the television on but its muted. For the purpose of the reaction paper I thought it would be more accurate to have someone observe my actions.…

Of course our parents always tell us that we should be careful not to stain our carpets with anything, and that is where I made my mistake. I was sitting in my room bored with nothing to do. May I remind you that this is not a good thing for a seven year old to be doing.…

The exhibit tells me a lot about the background of Viki, one of the basket makers in the United States or specifically in Indiana. Besides that, the exhibit also tells me a lot about the process of making baskets. The process might be difficult for someone who is not familiar to basket making. There are three essential tools that are needed to make baskets and the tools are spitzka, pruning shears and pocketknife. All of these tools are required to shape and bend the willow to become a perfect basket.…

I intended to show a player with great passion and love for the game. I wanted to show a struggle, but that he has the heart and determination to keep going and never give up no matter what challenge he faces. I wanted to freeze a highlight in time so it can be remembered forever. My painting contains the home team quarterback backpedaling to dodge the best player he has ever faced. The curved lines in the shoulders and arms of both players leads the eyes from a single side of a player to the center point of contact.…

In order to enhance the learning of the children’s play and learning, observation is a starting point in learning about children itself, in term of what they know and what they are able to do (Morrison, 2011). Through the observation process, the teachers are able to collect the information about the children in unobtrusive ways which capture the child in their natural state of learning rather than through prescribed tests (Envy & Walters, 2013). Additionally, effective teachers observe and listen carefully to each child, assesses the learning and emotional needs of the individuals and tries hard to provide appropriate tasks and activities (Hayes, 2009). For instance, as the child is playing spontaneously, the teacher observes the behaviour,…

The process to creating this narrative of my belonging took a lot of reflecting reflect about the summer I had two years ago, which helped when I looked back at pictures we took there. Thinking back brought up a myriad of memories that I could fill books with. It also made me think about how I have changed in the past couple of years. My method to this creation was to write it as I was telling the story in my head, as I would reiterate verbally I would write it down, and then go back and add in all the description and detail in. I think I produced the best picture I could have painted for this story.…

I would celebrate with campers after they finally made it to the top of the climbing wall, I witnessed the amazement that would fill another camper’s face when they shot a bull’s-eye for the first time at the archery hut, and I experienced their joy and camaraderie while everyone sang old camp songs around the weekly campfire. When I became the drum major of my high school band and gained more opportunities to teach music and lead rehearsals than I had as a section leader, I began seeing parallels between my band members and my summer camp experiences. When a student I worked with finally played a passage she struggled with…

I am attaching two photos of Skyler Yang who has endure scratches on both sides of his face; one scratch is right below his right eye and the other is nearby his nose on the left side of his face. He received these scratches after he had spent the day with his mother. Specifically with this email, I want to address my concerns regarding my children's safety. Although these injuries may seem minor, I am concern that it could have resulted in more seriousness if the scratch would have made contact with his eye that could have led to infections or even lead to sight issues. As from what Skyler told me, he was scratched by Xylina's pet dog when he was walking the dog on a leash; apparently, the dog jumped up and scratched him.…
