Communication is a vital part of an organisation, it helps eliminate misunderstandings and enables the team to work smoothly and productively. The report explores effective communication skills that lead to effective team performance. It critically analysed group and self evaluation including challenges faced and recommendations. Presents influencing factors such as effective, interpersonal, gestures and listening assist in communication. Mentions different group types such as hot and cross functional groups are discussed.

It motivates and supports a positive work environment. Research suggests that constructive feedback facilitates improvement leading to ameliorate the outcome (Baker et al.2013). I found this particular feedback technique effective, it made team members feel more confident and created a safe environment open to new ideas and suggestions. The team trialled out suggestions and based the final decision on the most effective technique that produced the best outcome. - As a hot group we were all goal orientated and shared similar determination to excel and successfully complete the work required. All team members worked cooperatively, in an effective manner, being patient, respecting one another and completing tasks way ahead of schedule. Every aspect of the group assignment ran smoothly, even different viewpoints were expressed calmly and taken into consideration to benefit the team and achieve a desired outcome. Every person was included and I felt like a family, building lifelong connections.
Initially I thought being a cross-functional team we would have difficulties agreeing to specific maters and also having different attitudes in regards to completing/ how to go about the task. Being an interdisciplinary team with members selected from different degree backgrounds from Politics, Commerce, Communication and Law, Communication and Media and Medical and Health Science was a great advantage.
