Why are most people now ok with gays when Transgenders are still left in the darkness of discrimination and hate? There is a large amount of evidence that supports all the discrimination, refusal of work and all the pain, for all of the harassment. Why are people so transphobic and homophobic when they are just normal people like the rest of them? There is Discrimination, refusal of service, and pain and suicide that Transgenders and gays face all through their life.
High amounts of discrimination are everywhere for Transgenders and gays. “January 24, 2011 the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development released a report recognizing exclusion for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender families and individuals were being excluded from housing opportunities.”(Evidence in housing and rental markets). This concludes discrimination in housing and rental homes for gays and Transgenders also been reported of being harassed and having to pay higher rent than straight couples. Also, 39% of gay and lesbian couples have been known to be treated negatively and shown less desirable homes when attempting to buy property (Housing discrimination based on sexual orientation).
