College Life Analysis

College is going to change your life. That change can be positive, or negative…it is solely up to you. In this blog, I am going to give all of you pre-college students some advice and tips I wish I had before entering. I will also be explaining the reality of college and how it is different from high school. My goal is to make you feel extra prepared after reading this post. Lets get started! First off, college is what you make it to be because you are now responsible and accountable for your future. Gutting declares, ”Students, in turn, need to recognize that their college education is above all a matter of opening themselves up to new dimensions of knowledge and understanding” (414). This advice is imperative because it shows how it is up to the student to get the most out of their education. Most of ones learning in life comes from a classroom, though it is the student who is responsible for allowing that to happen. College should be a valuable experience for students. You’re embarking on a journey towards your dreams: take it seriously! I tend to say that conventional wisdom is often wrong. I wish high school wasn 't so lenient. In college, you only have one shot at everything. There are no re-takes, and there will be penalties if you decide to turn in an assignment late. Not only do I wish that my high school told me about this, but I also wish that my high school ran this way! I was able to re-take whatever I wanted as many times as I wanted to. I was spoiled, now I 'm finding it hard to manage my time in college. I wasn 't used to studying vigorously because I knew that if I failed a test, I could just re-take it.
