The meaning of abortion is “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus.”(Merriam Webster)4 Abortion was legalized in 1974, and since then there has been many viewpoints from Christians all over U.S. Also since 1974 there has been well over 40 million abortions in the U.S. alone. Abortion has been legal for 41 years, just as slavery was legal long ago. The controversial question, is it ethical to have an abortion? Many Christians have negative opinions about this topic, but nowhere in the bible does it say “one must not abort your child.” On the other hand, the bible teaches us that abortion is wrong, in different contexts. For an example the publics’ opinion towards abortion stands out.
