A very wise and magical man named Walt Disney once said, “if you can dream it, you can do it” (Coombs, 2015). I have had many different jobs over the years, even a stint working for the Walt Disney Company, but ever since I was a little girl I have been dreaming of what my career could be. Now that I am an adult, and I use the term loosely since it still takes some getting used to view myself as an adult, I am very excited about planning my career.
Colorado State University’s Global Campus Career Center Colorado State University’s Global Campus has an amazing asset for anyone looking to begin and/or develop their career at the Career Center. It is an exceptional resource to plan your career. The career center has everything a person could need; from resume writing to job interview preparation to how to become a great employee. I think the strongest resources are the career coaches, the job interview preparation and how you can have a Human Resources professional review your resume. There is also a section on Personal and Career Development. This area helps you develop your career portfolio, establish your values, skill set, ideal work environment and financial planning. Checklists and questionnaires are available to students to fill out to help determine what steps they want to take in their career path.
