As a people pleaser, I have difficulty making decisions because I want to make sure everyone’s opinions and ideas are valued. However, this often leads to internal conflict because I take too long to make decisions, out of fear that I am making the wrong decision, hurting other peoples’ feelings or being overly assertive. I find that I seek approval from others in order to validate my opinions in decision-making situations. Being more decisive will help me become a more confident and purpose-driven leader, which will demonstrate to my team members that I can lead them and that they can trust the choices I make. My vision is to bring people together to create positive change, but this cannot happen without being able to effectively manage others to implement change. In order to become a stronger leader, I plan on integrating my values and motivations with my personal abilities in my endeavours. By playing to my strengths, as well as recognizing my personal areas of improvement, I will be able to develop confidence as a leader. I aspire to become a role model for others who want to influence change, similar to how Craig Kielburger inspired me when I was younger.
