Twenty percent of U.S. students in grades 9-12 reportedly have experienced bullying or are feeling bullied, while twenty-eight percent of students in grades 6-12 report the same. Experts agree that most incidences of bullying occur during middle school (Revealed). When I was in middle school, I was constantly being made fun of for my height and how big my feet were. Later in high school the bullying worsened. Many of the friends I had in middle school started to exclude me. Soon after they began to talk about me behind my back; I could tell that they were because they were being obvious. They also made up very inappropriate rumors about me and spread them around the school. I tried to live everyday like it was not happening, but it became worse. My junior year of high school, I was competing in a state pageant and had to create a Facebook page for myself and my platform. My platform was anti-bullying because of my experience with it. As I was scrolling through my page I saw that someone had commented on it. A user by the name of Katie Payne said, “Oh okay this makes sense the girl who got kicked from a cheerleading team for bullying is now stopping bullying.” At first I was scared because I did not want people to see this; then I become angry because the post was not true at all. I quit the cheer team because they were bullying me and I could not take it anymore. All I could do was delete the post and block whoever Katie Payne was. The following day, she posted something…
