Bullying Although being bullied in elementary/middle school can lead to many negative things, it can also impact me in a positive way. When I was in elementary school I was bullied a lot because I was chunky, tall, had thick/ busy eyebrows, and had puffy natural hair. From being known as the ugly fat girl with huge bushy eyebrows and puffy hair lowered my self-esteem and confidence a lot. I started to do thing to myself so my classmates can accept me. One day I took it upon myself to try to arch my eyebrows with a razor. That resulted in me shaving one of my eyebrows completely off. I had to go to school for about a month with just one eyebrow. I stopped eating a lot because I hated being called fat I thought every time I eat something I will just gain more and more weight. From being called power puff because of my large puffy natural hair caused me to hate my natural hair as I got older. I soon started to hate my height because I was the tallest girl in my class. Since I was being bullied each day in school it went to the point where I would go home crying each day. I went to middle school with low self-esteem and confidence. …show more content…
Since I was younger I always wanted to be a cheerleader at the middle school I went to. I was one out of three 6th graders that was on the cheerleading team. I begged my parents for a relaxer in my hair so it will not be puffy anymore. My cheerleading teammates helped me to gain some confidence in myself because I was voted co-captain my first year of cheering. Incidents like this were luckily few and far between, but almost everything you deal with helps shape who you become. I also dealt with a fair amount of bullying; most children went to school together from kindergarten to whatever grade we were in at the time, so I, always being the new kid, was the outcast. I learned…

Back then during middle school, I was one of those kids who just didn't get along with anybody, I was always alone and was pretty much bullied by other kids who thought they were better than me in every way imaginable. Sometimes people are cruel and they still are, but that doesn't mean you return the feeling otherwise your no better than the people who did it to you. It was during lunch that a boy came up to me and starting calling me names, just like any other day. It went on like this for a while until I ended up telling one of my teachers that he was doing this and that this had been happening to me for some time with other students because of how i looked or who I was hanging out with. All of this started in elementary school during 3rd grade, but it just got worse from there and that's where…

One problem that is ever evolving and continuously effects young adolescence in school is bullying. Bullying can be defined as an activity in which someone intentionally participates in either physically or emotionally harming a peer through any medium; such as words, actions, or technology. By applying this definition to the term bullying, it makes sense that almost every teenager in America can identify a time when they were bullied, when they bullied someone else, or a time when they saw a peer get harassed. And with an increase in technology use, minorities in school, and a growing LGBT group in the education system the problem is only going to get worse. There is a common misconception in the adult community as well as media that somehow…
