Personal Narrative: Bullying In Middle School

Improved Essays
It is estimated that over 100,000 students miss school every day due to fear of being bullied. Since I was little I always had many friends, especially in middle school, one friend in particular, Eduardo.
Eduardo was being bullied by a bunch of big kids. I never really paid much attention to it, until it happened to me. One day walking to my next class with my new Nike shoes that my mom had got me the day before, everyone complimented me on them, then Fredi, some dude that was irritating with me since the school year began, squinted at my shoes and smiled and luaghed and said "where did your mom get them from? The dump?!" From there on he started taunting me and ridiculing me. Every Time i saw a glimpse of Fredi in the hallway,

nobodys perfect and of coursei had my enemys and foes. My freind Eduardo wasn't so fortunate and spent most of his time alone and I did hang with him a little bit but I wasn't a full time freind and well he didn't enjoy going to school. I really never knew why until he was unusually quiet, he's usually quieti but not like this. I asked him "what's wrong?" And he replyed "There was two guys telling me and pick'n at me to give them my lunch money and I did it but now I can't pay for my lunch" so I gave him my lunch cause I had money in my lunch account and I went on with the rest of my day. My mom had gotten me new shoes and when I went to school the next morning, I got a lot of compliments and my best freinds teased me about them, I saw fredi looking at me in only what I could remember was the faintest grin I've ever seen. Fredi started walking towards me and his "gang",looks up from what they were doing and then at one another confused, then followed slowly behind him. He grabbed his bottle of water and opened it and pretended like he tripped and spilled water all over my right shoe. That's where it all started

Fredi would annoy me or mess with me whenever he saw me or if he didn't then he would just stared at me with his viscious eyes. I always thought that that was the way he was and I thought of him as a bully but I never labeled him as a bad

Is school a safe and secure place for every child? Lynda Barry, author of “The Sanctuary of School” believed that school was a diversion from the realities in her life. It was a place where she could truly be herself, a place where she felt she was wanted. Although, school can be a safe haven for some children, it can also be a nightmare for others. While interpreting Barry’s needs for children to be able to attend school, the question to inquire is if public school is the ideal environment for every child.…
