To the kids you are with, you are more than just a regular teacher; you are their friend. I started off my journey teaching children when I was only 10 there have been approximately helping for 6 years. At that time, I was placed in a kindergarten class to be a leader whose main focus was cleaning up after kids and making sure they were not disruptive. I get so much joy out of helping a swim instructor who has a difficult class since it means that they can continue teaching without a single kid slowing down the class. The kids I get to work with are amazing. They are always excited to work one on one with me which in turn makes me feel like I am making an impact in their lives. My hope is to create a passion within kids to put their all into something they love and that in order for them to be successful they have to work their hardest at it. This doesn’t just mean swimming, this can apply to their schoolwork or even in future
