“During fiscal year 2014, Planned Parenthood snuffed the life out of 327,653 babies.” This statement is made by researchers at a website called Freedom Outpost, showing approximately the number of abortions carried out by planned parenthood alone.The question is; should mothers have the right to an abortion before brain activity occurs and federal funding to do so? Seeing as though the developing child can not live outside the woman's body and does not yet have brain activity to be considered its own, independent life. Even so, some congressmen want to stop the federal funding of planned parenthood. Pro-life politicians have been diligently working against the pro-choice politicians by pushing outrageous abortion laws such as the Heartbeat Bill. This bill states; It will be illegal for a woman to have an abortion after a fetus's heartbeat is detected under the assumption a fetus is a person after it has a heartbeat. This particular attempt has been shut down because John Kasich, the Republican governor of Ohio, vetoed the bill. Pence stated, "The largest abortion provider in America should not also be the largest recipient of federal funding under Title X.” even so , most states in the U.S., 35 in total, remained impartial to the Bill; however, of the 15 states which moved from an impartial category to a more wary category, every one of the states became more restrictive to abortion laws and funding of planned parenthood. Two of the states supportive of abortion rights in 2000 moved to the middle category by 2011, and one had become hostile.
