As candidates battle it out in hopes becoming the next President of the United States, two women are gaining momentum in their respective parties’ polls. Hillary Clinton and Carly Fiorina are both strong female candidates in this current race for the White House. These are two candidates who are claiming to represent the female vote and are invested in women’s rights yet they have opposing views on a very important issue, Planned Parenthood. Clinton, representing the Democratic side, is a very strong advocate for Planned Parenthood. Fiorina representing the Conservative mindset would like to see Planned Parenthood held accountable for recent actions and investigated thoroughly, as do most Republican candidates in light of the recent videos regarding organ harvesting. …show more content…
Her pro-choice stance has been a major focus in her campaign. When asked about federal limits on abortion she said, “This is one of those really painful questions that people raise and obviously it's really emotional, I think that the kind of late term abortions that take place are because of medical necessity”(Newby). She does not want any limitation on abortion, even very late term. She also wants Planned Parenthood to remain in full swing. Clinton has acknowledged that she has seen the videos coming out recently of Planned Parenthood executives discussing organ harvesting from aborted fetuses and in “her response to this she says they were misleadingly edited and intentionally taken out of context” (Newby). Her support remains firm and her fight to keep Planned Parenthood open and providing services to women in need
