SUMMARY OF ALLEGATIONS
On 08/05/2017 the hotline received a report indicating that the mother did not pick up Alesia from La Amistad Behavioral Center. It was found that after the mother has been arrested for DUI on 8/4/2017. It was said that the mother has displayed a couple of times slurred speech, disorganization, and bizarre behavior in the facility. It was once noted that the mother's behavior was due to a "medical condition." The mother used to drink heavily years ago. The mother denied substance use. Alesia was baker act due to anxiety and depression and has been at the facility for a month. The report indicated that after Alesia found out the mother did not show up to pick her, she had an anxiety attack.

NATURE OF MALTREATMENT
The household consists of Cynthia (mother) and Alesia (child).

Alesia indicated the mother drinks about 2 glasses of wines, nothing concerning as she has not witnessed her to be intoxicated. Alesia denies that her mother drinks excessively and deny being afraid of her mother.

According to Cynthia, she was grooming her dog and had a couple of glasses of wines. While heading back to the hotel where she was staying, she got lost as she does not know the area of Maitland. While on her phone, she thinks she was swerving as it was hard for her to see the directions and felt a little dizzy. Cynthia denied being intoxicated, but was arrested for DIU.

The family has a total of 2 prior reports with one involving Cynthia as the AP for Family Violence Threatens Child and Inadequate Supervision closed as no indicator. Although, Cynthia has a criminal history that suggest impulsive behaviors as she has been arrested recently for DUI twice within 2 weeks there are no prior for substance misuse-alcohol.
