World Free of Poverty Possible? A world free of poverty is like a perfect dream come true, but is this dream actually possible for us, I would have to say no to that. I believe that as human beings regardless what country we live in, we have given our individual governments enough power that they now have brainwashed us to think all of the important issues we need to fix require lots of time, money and effort which makes it inconvenient for us all. I also, believe that the issue of poverty is a topic that we think we are educated in and exposed to, however I believe we have not fully educated or exposed ourselves to it as much as we think we have. The only way we can start taking steps to end world poverty would be if we believed in ourselves and believed that change like this is possible for us. We would need to take our control back from our government. Taking control back for our governments would mean saying no to the options they outlined for us on important issues and not backing down. Also, if we educated, and exposed ourselves on important issues and put ourselves in the shoes of those who are less fortunate than us, we would began to understand how important it is for us to end poverty because we would understand that those suffering from poverty are just like us and we wouldn’t want to be in those kinds of conditions. Lastly, we would be a step closer to ending poverty if we became less self-interested and worried more about the well-beings of those around us. A quote that resonated with my vision on how I thought we could get a step closer to a world free of poverty was by James D. Wolfenson and he said “ If we act now with realism and foresight, if we show courage, if we think globally and allocate our resources accordingly, we can give our children a more peaceful and equitable world. One where poverty and suffering will be reduced. Where children everywhere will have a sense of hope. This is not just a dream . It is our responsibility. I absolutely love everything about this quote and I hope we evolve into a world with this kind of vision and hope and desire because than a world free of poverty would be
