    Definition Of Success

    • 514 Words
    • 3 Pages

The word success to me means that there’s an accomplishment of an aim or purpose. Success is things you achieve that you want. In order for me to do that, I do all my homework and study for tests and achieve my goals. When I do that action, it has now been considered successful. When people enjoy their work, and if it gives them an opportunity to spend time with their family and have a balanced life, they’d consider themselves successful because it happens and it works. Success is when you succeed in life. According to me when you have set some goals for yourself or you have aimed for something and worked really hard on it and had finally achieved it. It is success. Success to me is achieving all my goals and aspirations I set forth out to complete. This is a triumph because it leads you somewhere to something that’s considered good. The stuff I can’t do, I defeat them to achieve my goal and it becomes a victory. The quote ‘’ no matter who are you, your progress and success in life will depend, more than any other factor, on how you invest the twenty- four hours you’re blessed with each day.’’ This quote by Tommy Newberry means that it doesn’t matter who you are but the work you put in will factor out everything and show you what you did and will bless your day. We all want to do a task that takes us somewhere and makes us successful. We all have dreams to accomplish. We all want to travel a lot, have a luxurious house, and we all went perfect relationships. In order for us…

through 250 years or Slavery, 90 years or Jim Crow, and 60 years of Segregation, we still are going through the same struggles in modern time. This systematic oppression of African Americans has been here far too long and it has been embedded into the American Culture. We are strong people born from super humans who survived the horrors or The Middle Passage to the pain of Chattel Slavery. We come from the backs of giants in every field of academia. Unfortunately, all of our history has become…

Leslie Marmon Silko and Joy Harjo are both female Native American writers. Each of the authors’ works contain reoccurring themes, but their styles of writing differ greatly. The Oxford English Dictionary defines a dream as “joy, pleasure, gladness; mirth, rejoicing, jubilation; an instance of this,” (Oxford English Dictionary). For Harjo, the dream world is very real and she even experiences living in it. Joy Harjo is a poet, while Leslie Marmon Silko writes mainly short stories. Harjo’s…

Visibility? Discovery? Light slanting in from outside? Does the word window remind you of the word autopsy? No? It should. English is one of the most widely spoken languages, along with Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese and French, respectively. There is no doubt that it has found its way into numerous countries. However, there is a difference between etymological mingling and lingual domination. I strongly disagree with the notion that everyone, in every country, should learn English. This suggestion seems almost barbaric and hateful. Globalizing English would demolish not only the history and culture of other…
