United States Chamber The world’s largest business organization is the United States Chamber of Commerce. The U.S. Chamber more than 3 million business of all different standings; large business corporations all the way to small mom-and-pop shops are represented by the Chamber. All of those business “. . . share one thing—they count on the Chamber to be their voice in Washington, D.C.” (U.S., 2016). The U.S. Chamber was founded on April 22, 1912 when President William Howard Taft requested 700 delegates from businesses and chambers across the nation to bring “. . . assistance in carrying on the government in reference to those matters that affect the business and the business welfare of the country. . . “(U.S., 2016). Thus, the United States Chamber of Commerce was founded. As of today, the U.S. Chamber is made up of a strong leadership team, lobbyist and policy experts, and over 1,500 volunteers, who all work to advocate for the business world on issue such as debt and deficit, health care, free speech, labor, taxes, and much more. Overall, the United States Chamber offers important and much needed advocacy in D.C. for businesses throughout the entire country.
