Introduction The product that has been chosen is IXL Strawberry Spread. The company which makes this product is Henry Jones IXL. Henry Jones IXL was founded in 1898 as H. Jones & Company and is a well-known Australian brand name, associated with jams and other fruit based products. The brand is now owned and manufactured by SPC Ardmona which has been owned by Coca-Cola Amatil since February 2005. Product and Target Audience The product IXL Strawberry Conserve is the most popular products made by this company. It is one of the highest selling jams in Australia and therefore is loved by many. It is similar to any other jam however the fact that it is an Australian product makes it more appealing and trustable to an Australian market. The target audience for this product is all Australians as the brand claims that their jam is ‘Australia's Favourite Jam*’. Design Considerations and Examples When creating the packaging it was noted that IXL is well known for being an Australian company so this was incorporated into the design with the gold and green colour layout. The logo was an iconic part of this product’s packaging however it seemed a bit dated so this has been slightly modified but has been kept recognisable. Having a picture of the fruit that is in the jam was seen to be an effective image that was used commonly throughout many different brands of jam such as Kraft Jam and Woolworths Select Jam so this was added into the design. The jam will be packaged in portion sized…

“When you find yourself in dark places, there's always a light somewhere in that darkness, and even if that light is inside of you, you can illuminate your own darkness by shedding that light on the world.” Yusef Salaam, Punching the Air. I believe that the tone of a book is important because it is the cause of emotions related to the novel in question. I feel Punching the Air uses tone to enhance their work by using it to create sympathy for the main character, anger for the lack of proper…

Punch does not spare the intellect of the Jamaica Committee either during the Eyre Controversy. For Hasian, ‘Eyre's defenders viewed themselves as pragmatic realists who were caught in a discursive struggle with idealist philanthropists who simply did not understand the politics and pressures that were involved in colonial matters’ (86). The ignorance of the members of the Committee is emphasised when one of them makes a mistake about British history. (“Chronology in Clerkenwell”) A comrade…

Sucker Punch Saturday night started out slow. I was spending more time in the back talking to Angel and Sky than out on the floor. I had gotten a few new outfits with all the money I had made Friday night. “Check this one out,” I held up a hanger with a two-piece white bikini outfit on it. The bra top and the waistband of the thong were covered with red, white, and blue sequins. It came with a matching garter. “Nice. Patriotic,” Angel said. She had gotten a new gown, full length black with…

While Punch heaped praises on the British forces putting down colonial revolts in India and Jamaica, it also presented a counter-narrative to this depiction of righteousness and legitimate repression. The magazine mercilessly bashed the Britons whose actions somehow benefitted the cause of the rebels and their dissenting countrymen who vilified the way the repressions were handled. In fact, in both colonies, ‘the uprising had disrupted not only the formal structures of imperial rule but also the…
