Do you think that it’s funny to joke about Iranian people and their stereotypes that they have? For an example, like Iranian people are terrorists and that they can’t be trusted with any sort of weapon or bomb like substance. But in reality , not all the Iranian people are terrorists and that it isn’t really true what people say about them . These are the types of things that many people think of when Iranian people are mentioned in conversations or in jokes. In a comedy show night by Maz Jobrani, he accomplished his goal of making his audience laugh by making jokes about his own country ,his nationality and also terrorism . He includes structure in his comedy and one of the structures Maz uses is his Set-Up. So he can make the audience laugh, then he uses punchlines that refers to a stereotype that mentions many times throughout his night. Last but not least since Maz is Iranian , he uses a foreign accent to go along with the jokes he makes. Also by this it is …show more content…
For example ,going to the end of maz’s joke he mentions how he was in Dubai and that people, their obsessed over having the biggest, longest, tallest buildings. Then he explains how he was at a mall over there , he dramatically says the mall is so huge that you have to use a taxi in the mall to get places. For an example “ I was walking and I hear BEEP-BEEP I’m like what are you doing here, he goes I’m going to the Zara store it’s 3 miles from here out of my way, out of my way”. Using this example shows how Maz uses the way of his tone to get the people to laugh and also toppers he uses just in the example given. So like the tone of Maz’s voice he has in most of his jokes is a foreign accent, by him doing this makes us understand and visualize his joke and also makes us laugh. I also laughed myself too, but toppers help out on maz’s joke because it builds up the joke leading us to
