There is a local memorandum of agreement between the Bensalem Twp. Police Department and The Pennsylvania State Police. The Pennsylvania State Police handles all “Gaming Related Areas.” However, “Non-Gaming-Related Areas,” Bensalem PD handles, such as the Food Court and Banquet area, the Parx Steakhouse and Chickie’s & Pete’s restaurant. Bensalem PD, in addition to those non-gaming areas, they also handle all parking lots and adjoining walkways and thruways, including the Porte-Coche. The payoff for the local police department, township, and Bucks County are upwards of ninety million dollars. The Nottingham Fire Department located at 3420 Street Road is the nearest volunteer fire department to the casino approximately 2 miles away. The fire department operates as an engine company and ladder company, which responded to over five hundred fire calls annually. Furthermore, the Bensalem’s Rescue Squad responds to over six thousand, calls annually. The Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Gaming Enforcement (PSP/BGE) has a fully operational facility within Parx Casino. Assigned to the bureau: one station commander (sergeant), two corporals, and ten troopers.
