    Sichuan, the center of middle-west China is one of the most beautiful and developed provinces, however, on 12 May 2008 at 2.28 p.m., a 7.9-magnitude earthquake struck Sichuan. It was the twelfth most destructive earthquake in human history and the largest disaster in China since the Tangshan earthquake in 1976. There are totally 87,000 casualties and 46 million people in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Chongqing are affected by the earthquake. Tremors were even felt by residents in Beijing and Shanghai, a thousand miles away (Bin). The earthquake causes a huge economy loss and severe citizen casualties.
