This was usually done by creating and enforcing the nation’s military. For instance, the Naval arms race between Britain and Germany was a major aspect of militarism. Britain was becoming a vigorous country when the building of Dreadnoughts (extreme battleship) were assembled. Additionally, Germany wanted to appear supreme and forceful, which then led to Germany creating powerful battleships just as Britain. Even though militarism was fueled by nationalism, the intention for European nations was becoming furtherly imperial. Imperialism is the ruling of a weaker country by a dominant country. Britain feared that Germany would gain more African territories while Russia was fearful of Serbia/ Austria since they were nearby Russia’s trading route. While these countries had concerns, Italy wanted to become greatly imperial by conquering Tunisia. However, France dominated Italy and France took control of Tunisia.
